Trumpet Talks the Birds and the Bees
We live in a world where storks no longer only squawk and walk, but now talk – and help deliver major marketing campaign messaging with much success. Meet Sammy the Stork, grand pooh-bah of the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals
Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals new movement, The Stork Reality The Stork Reality. Sammy spends many evenings, with his flock (a very enthusiastic street team), swooping in and out of neighborhood bars throughout the state of Louisiana, making new friends and spreading the word about the importance for women to be healthy pre-conception along with the fact that 50% of all pregnancies are unplanned.
The success of this campaign is due to the strategic approach- combining traditional marketing methods (advertising and website) with grassroots efforts (Sammy on foot), supported by social media and online tactics. All of which are driving traffic back to TheStorkReality.com website. The website, The Stork Reality, houses a series of videos where Sammy is interacting with the target audience- young, active, vibrant members of the general public; essentially the same audience Sammy is capturing when visiting bars and nightclubs. The campaign has proven to be highly interactive in-person and online, which has created an effective way to create a conversation.
Sammy can also be found on Facebook Facebook
and Twitter Twitter offering reflections, news updates and key messaging to fellow bird watchers.
So keep your eyes peeled for the 7-foot Sammy and his flock… He may have a special delivery for you when out enjoying an adult beverage to two or if you are following online. Tweet, Tweet!
