New Orleans Hornets:Following Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans Hornets organization found a home in the welcoming arms of Oklahoma City, OK. While the city’s beloved Saints returned after only one season away, the Hornets played in Oklahoma an additional year, stirring rumors of permanent relocation and abandonment. Additionally, outstanding contract issues between the Hornets and the State of Louisiana had cynics expecting the worst. Trumpet’s invitation to “Witness the Greatest Comeback in NBA History” struck the right chord, creating excitement among a basketball- hungry fan base and generating a sense of contribution on behalf of the Hornets to the recovery of the City of New Orleans. Early indications following connection with previous season ticket holders and potential new buyers were extremely positive, and following a deep playoff run in 2008 ticket sales have remained among the league average.
